Endurance
Most riders benefit from regular comfortable aerobic work.
- Build weekly duration gradually and include easy rides.
- Practise eating, drinking and pacing on longer sessions.
- Use hills selectively rather than making every ride a maximal test.
Strength and mobility
Train whole-body control for repeated braking and rough terrain.
- Include squat, hinge, push, pull, carry and trunk-control patterns at a suitable level.
- Progress load with good technique and pain-free movement.
- Mobility work should support positions actually used on the bike.
Recovery
Adaptation happens between sessions.
- Protect sleep, ordinary nutrition and easier days.
- Reduce training when illness, injury or persistent fatigue appears.
- Use a qualified professional for individual medical or rehabilitation needs.
