Endurance

Most riders benefit from regular comfortable aerobic work.

  • Build weekly duration gradually and include easy rides.
  • Practise eating, drinking and pacing on longer sessions.
  • Use hills selectively rather than making every ride a maximal test.

Strength and mobility

Train whole-body control for repeated braking and rough terrain.

  • Include squat, hinge, push, pull, carry and trunk-control patterns at a suitable level.
  • Progress load with good technique and pain-free movement.
  • Mobility work should support positions actually used on the bike.

Recovery

Adaptation happens between sessions.

  • Protect sleep, ordinary nutrition and easier days.
  • Reduce training when illness, injury or persistent fatigue appears.
  • Use a qualified professional for individual medical or rehabilitation needs.
