Create turning room through approach position, vision and controlled wheel paths on climbs and descents.

Set the approach
Use available trail width without cutting the corner.
- Look through the turn and position early for a wider legal arc.
- Brake before the tightest point.
- Select climbing gear before entering an uphill switchback.
Coordinate the bike
Front and rear wheels follow different paths.
- Turn the head and hips toward the exit while keeping balance adaptable.
- Allow bike lean appropriate to speed and support.
- Keep inside pedal clear where ground contact is possible.
Practise
Flat markers create safe repetition.
- Ride decreasing-radius turns in both directions.
- Add slope only when steering and braking remain calm.
- Do not skid the rear wheel to rotate on trails where that damages the surface.
