Establish a neutral setup
Record original positions before changing anything.
- Set saddle height and fore-aft within safe hardware limits.
- Rotate brake levers for comfortable wrists and reliable one-finger reach.
- Keep bar, stem and spacer arrangements within manufacturer requirements.
Change one variable
Small changes can have large effects.
- Test on familiar easy terrain before a long ride.
- Allow adaptation time without persisting through worsening pain.
- Do not exceed minimum insertion marks or torque limits.
Get help
Bike fit cannot diagnose medical problems.
- Use an experienced fitter for recurring comfort or control issues.
- Seek clinical advice for persistent numbness, weakness, swelling or pain.
- Reassess fit after injury, major component changes or growth in young riders.
