Before booking
Ask the operating carrier, not only a comparison website.
- Confirm bicycle reservation, dimensions, weight, fees and check-in time.
- Check whether foot passengers wheel bikes aboard or require packaging.
- Verify every connecting rail, coach or transfer separately.
Pack and document
Protect vulnerable parts and make reassembly possible.
- Follow carrier rules for bars, pedals, tyres, tools and gas cartridges.
- Photograph the packed bike and carry essential assembly tools lawfully.
- Keep frame number, insurance and destination workshop details accessible.
Battery restrictions
Large lithium batteries are commonly prohibited from passenger flights.
- Never conceal or misdescribe an e-bike battery.
- Ask about compliant battery hire at the destination.
- Follow ferry and tunnel rules for transport, isolation and damage.
