PLAN A TRIP

Bike-friendly accommodation

Ask specific questions about storage, washing, drying, charging and early starts before booking.

Reviewed · General UK planning guidance · Check current operator and manufacturer information

Before booking

Describe the group and equipment clearly.

  • Confirm lockable indoor storage capacity and whether bikes are insured while stored.
  • Ask about washing, drying wet kit, workshop space and disposal of muddy water.
  • For e-bikes, obtain explicit approval for battery storage and charging.

Trip practicality

A close-looking property can still have a slow road journey to the trailhead.

  • Check driving or riding time, parking height restrictions and secure overnight vehicle storage.
  • Ask about breakfast times, packed food and late arrival after an uplift day.
  • Confirm cancellation terms when riding depends on weather or venue operation.

Be a good guest

Good behaviour keeps accommodation open to riders.

  • Do not take muddy bikes or dripping kit into rooms without permission.
  • Use the agreed wash and storage areas and report damage immediately.
  • Keep batteries undamaged, dry and away from escape routes.
