Insurance questions

Cover varies by policy and circumstance.

  • Check theft away from home, accidental damage, public liability and personal accident separately.
  • Confirm exclusions for racing, uplift parks, overseas travel and unattended vehicles.
  • Record serial numbers, receipts, photographs and component upgrades.

At home and away

Use layered security rather than hiding alone.

  • Lock the bike through the frame to a solid anchor with the policy-required lock.
  • Avoid leaving bikes visible in a vehicle; verify overnight and roof-rack conditions.
  • Do not advertise an empty home through public ride posts or predictable storage photos.

If a bike is stolen

Fast, accurate reporting improves the chance of identification.

  • Report the theft to police and obtain a crime reference number.
  • Notify the insurer within its required timeframe and preserve evidence.
  • Share the serial number and distinctive features; do not confront a suspected seller.
