The Glentress network starts from the Gateway and covers progressive green riding, long blue and red loops, a severe black route, skills zones and short taster trails. The longer routes mix sustained forest-road climbing with purpose-built singletrack, natural sections and modern flow trails.
Lower Green Route
Green · Easy · 3.5 km / 2¼ miles
A wide, relatively gentle introduction with rollers, berms and avoidable features.

- The signed entrance is on the north side of the A72 between Peebles and Innerleithen; EH45 8NB is the nearest postcode. Parking uses an ANPR barrier system and charges apply after the free drop-in period, so check the current tariff before travel.
- Public transport
- The reviewed land-manager page gives road-arrival information but does not provide a complete public-transport itinerary. Plan the full journey, including the final leg from Peebles or Innerleithen, with a current journey planner.
- Facilities
- The land manager lists toilets, accessible toilets, showers, a visitor centre, café, picnic area, charged and Blue Badge parking, viewpoints and a wildlife hide. Opening times can change and should be checked on the visitor-information page.
- Bike hire and support
- On-site bike hire is listed, with Alpine Bikes operating from the Gateway area. Confirm hire availability, workshop support and collection times directly before travelling.
- Booking
- No general trail booking requirement is recorded for the waymarked network. Hire, coaching, events and other commercial activities may require advance booking.
- Seasonal and live-status note
- The operator maintains live bike-trail notices and may post diversions or partial closures for repairs, forestry work and events. Treat the route descriptions here as planning information and check the live notices on the day.
