Use exact instructions
Specifications belong to the particular frame, part and fastener.
- Use a calibrated torque wrench in the stated range.
- Apply only the assembly compound, grease or thread treatment specified.
- Respect spacer, steerer, clamp and minimum-insertion requirements.
Inspect after impacts
Carbon damage may be subtle.
- Stop for cracks, soft areas, distortion, unusual sounds or changed alignment.
- Do not sand, drill, clamp or heat carbon parts casually.
- Use a competent carbon inspection or repair specialist when damage is uncertain.
Transport and storage
Clamping and rack loads can be damaging.
- Clamp only approved areas and never crush frame tubes in a workstand.
- Follow rack guidance for carbon frames and wheels.
- Protect parts from sharp contact and investigate transport damage before riding.
